Two Main Hike Options of Path of the Gods

Along the Path of the Gods, hikers have two main route options to choose from. The first is starting from Bomerano and ending in Nocelle, offering a thrilling adventure with picturesque panoramas at every turn.

The second starting in Bomerano, going to Nocelle and then taking the steps from Nocelle to Amalfi Drive (you will walk down more than 1700 steps), and walking to the east end of Positano. You can also go to Praiano or reverse the route, beginning in Nocelle (or Positano) and concluding in Bomerano, providing a unique perspective of the Amalfi Coast’s rugged beauty.

After savoring the breathtaking vistas, you have the flexibility to hike back or conveniently use public transportation or a taxi for a comfortable return.

Discover Nocelle

Nocelle, a picturesque village perched high above the Amalfi Coast, welcomed us with its tranquil charm during our journey along the Path of the Gods. As we hiked through this idyllic hamlet, we couldn’t resist pausing to admire the breathtaking vistas of the azure sea and lush landscapes. After an invigorating hike, we found solace in Nocelle’s peaceful ambiance, treating ourselves to a delightful lunch at a local restaurant. Indulging in delicious pasta dishes, while Chiyoko happily sipped her water, we relished the genuine Italian flavors and hospitality.

While the Path of the Gods can be explored throughout the year, the best time to undertake this hiking journey is during the spring and autumn seasons. The weather is mild, and the crowds are smaller, allowing you to savor the tranquil beauty of the Amalfi Coast in serenity.

Our tips for Path of Gods

  1. Check the Weather: Before embarking on the hike, make sure to check the weather forecast. It’s best to choose a clear and sunny day for the hike to fully enjoy the breathtaking views.
  2. Carry Enough Water: Stay hydrated during the hike, especially for your dog. Bring enough water for both of you, water sources may be only at the start and end of the trail.
  3. Rest and Shade: Take frequent breaks during the hike, especially during hot weather. Look for shaded spots where you (and your dog) can rest and cool down and enjoy the wonderful views.
  4. Best photography: Opt for the morning hours! With the sun behind you, the trail is beautifully illuminated, creating perfect lighting conditions for stunning photos. In the afternoon, hiking towards the sun can be challenging for photography.

So, leash up, put on your hiking boots, and set off on a majestic adventure that will forever hold a special place in your hearts.
